I’m Jacquelyn, and I’m passionate about CULTURE! This blog is an outlet for me to examine my role in the various cultural spheres I interact with. As the title of this blog alludes to, my experiences have equipped me with a unique “culture lens,” and I hope to inspire you to become more aware of your own lens!

For some more basic info, I am Asian-American, and I am ethnically Chinese and Korean. I currently speak four languages: English, Mandarin, French, and Korean, but I would like to study many more in the future (including Russian, Arabic, Japanese, and Spanish). My hobbies include learning new languages (duh!), advocating for culture diversity and youth female empowerment, exploring new places, and eating delicious food!

I studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea during the summer of 2017 as a finalist for the NSLI-Y scholarship funded by the Department of State. I am also co-founder and operations director for Young Asian Leaders of America. This national initiative, by youth, for youth, is dedicated to advocating for issues related to Asian-Americans, and you can explore my content, along with those of peers all around the country, on our website!
